Child in orange hatIn the NT we have 10 KMEC pilot services all operating in a rich, diverse, and often challenging environment. Five services are based in Darwin, one is based in Palmerston, two are in Alice Springs, one is in Katherine and one childcare centre is based in Jabiru in the centre of Kakadu National Park. This amazing Aboriginal cultural landscape covers an area of 19 804 km2 within the Alligator Rivers Region, quite a unique setting for a childcare centre!

Most of KidsMatter Early Childhood services in the NT are currently working at implementing Component 3: Working with parents and carers. They have also been participating in the professional learning for Component 4: Helping children who are experiencing mental health difficulties. Feedback from services to date shows they have been working hard to put into place many strategies to support children’s developing social and emotional wellbeing.
