In Victoria 10 sites have now completed Component 4 Professional Learning: Helping children who are experiencing mental health difficulties. Feedback from the services has been very positive with information perceived as very valuable. In particular, staff have commented that it helps consolidate an understanding of mental health and wellbeing in early childhood and connects well with key learning’s in the other three components.
Over October, more pilot sites will be completing their Component 4 Professional Learning, whilst others will be working on developing their action plans and implementation. Other services are working hard in implementing Component 3: Working with parents and carers in creative and fun ways. I’m looking forward to continuing the KMEC journey; seeing how services continue to engage their educators, staff and parents as they develop their understanding of how mental health and wellbeing impacts the children and families in their service.
