Target areas
Three target areas have been identified for Component 1: A positive school community, each with specific objectives that will encourage schools to provide a positive school community. These are:

- School environment (displays, artwork, facilities etc) reflects the varied cultures, family-types and needs of families at the school

- Collaborative involvement of students, staff, families and the community in the school

- Students, staff, families and the community are provided with opportunities to become involved in a range of school activities
- Students, staff, families and the community are encouraged to share their views and contribute to school decisions
