Information resources for parents, carers and school staff

The KidsMatter Primary resource packs are designed to provide information for parents, carers, and school staff about children’s mental health and wellbeing. They focus on specific topics relevant to each of the four KidsMatter Primary components, and include a range of suggestions to help parents, carers and school staff work together to support children’s development and mental health.

KidsMatter Primary Programs Guide

The KidsMatter Primary Programs Guide is designed to assist schools to make informed choices when selecting school-based programs that target children’s mental health and wellbeing. The guide provides:

• information on available programs that can be used in schools to support the KidsMatter Primary components.
• extended information for each program including its target audience, evidence base, and contact details for obtaining the program.
• assistance when selecting new or additional programs or when assessing programs in current in use.

Implementation & Professional Learning Resources

These resources are made available for schools implementing KidsMatter Primary. To ensure that the quality, integrity and effectiveness of the KidsMatter Initiative and its desired outcomes in relation to the mental health and well-being of children are maintained, the resources are intended to be used to implement KidsMatter by persons who are appropriately trained by KidsMatter Co-ordinators or Project Officers in their use and application.

KidsMatter Primary brochure

The KidsMatter Primary brochure provides information about the initiative in a concise and easy-to-read format. Schools can download the brochure by clicking on the link above and print to hand out to staff, parents and carers, and other school community members.

KidsMatter Primary Component Posters

A set of bright, colorful posters designed to promote the four components of the KidsMatter Primary initiative that can be displayed around the school. Each has a catchy slogan that helps staff, students and parents and carers to remember the key messages of the Initiative.
