A range of resources for schools and families have been developed to support the implementation of KidsMatter Primary in schools. All schools, as well as the general public, are now able to access the KidsMatter Primary range of resources via this website.

Information resources for parents, carers and school staff

The KidsMatter Primary resource packs are designed to provide information for parents, carers, and school staff about children’s mental health and wellbeing. They focus on specific topics relevant to each of the four KidsMatter Primary components, and include a range of suggestions to help parents, carers and school staff work together to support children’s development and mental health.  

KidsMatter Primary Programs Guide 

The KidsMatter Primary Programs Guide is designed to assist schools to make informed choices when selecting school-based programs that target children’s mental health and wellbeing. The Guide provides:

  • information on available programs that can be used in schools to support the KidsMatter Primary components
  • extended information for each program including its target audience, evidence base, and contact details for obtaining the program. Assistance when selecting new or additional programs or when assessing programs in current in use.

KidsMatter Primary Overview booklet

The KidsMatter Primary Overview booklet outlines the KidsMatter Primary initiative in detail including why the Initiative was developed, information about the KidsMatter Primary framework and four components, and how KidsMatter Primary is implemented in schools.

KidMatter Primary Implementation Manual Preview

The preview of the Implementation Manual aims to provide an overview of the initiative framework,
its implementation and the resources available for this process. Since only schools that are formally
engaged with the initiative have access to the full manual, this document presents introductory information and a description of the content of the whole manual.

KidsMatter Primary brochure

The KidsMatter Primary brochure provides information about the Initiative in a concise and easy-to-read format. Schools can download the brochure by clicking on the link above and print to hand out to staff, parents and carers, and other school community members.

KidsMatter Primary Component Posters

A set of bright, colorful posters designed to promote the four components of the KidsMatter Primary initiative that can be displayed around the school. Each has a catchy slogan that helps staff, students and parents and carers to remember the key messages of the Initiative.
