How to use the KidsMatter Information resources

Suggestions for how schools can use the KidsMatter resources

The KidsMatter Primary resources are intended for use by parents, carers and school staff.

Information sheets

Information sheets introduce key topics related to children’s mental health and wellbeing. These resources can be:
• photocopied and attached to school newsletters or otherwise sent home to parents.
• displayed within the school
• distributed and used for discussion at parent information evenings.

Resource packs

The resource packs provide more extensive information on key topics. They include:

  • one or more information sheets which introduce each topic in an easy to read format
  • a detailed overview of a specific topic of interest
  • practical suggestions for parents and carers to use with their children at home
  • practical suggestions for school staff to use at school
  • a list of other resources that include links to downloadable material, useful books, and resources that have been chosen for their quality and practical relevance.

In the table on the information resources page, the resource packs are introduced by a shaded title. Each title is followed by the relevant content files. We recommend that schools download and print the complete set of files for each topic, collated into folders and made available to the school community.
