The KidsMatter Primary recognition process is an opportunity to acknowledge schools that are working strategically to improve mental health and learning outcomes for students.

Criteria for recognition

Through the recognition process, schools will provide evidence of the actions they have taken to embed a whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing.
Schools are eligible to apply for recognition when they have:
  • completed whole-staff training in each KidsMatter component
Schools will provide evidence in each of the four KidsMatter components:
Component 1: Positive school community
Component 2: Social and emotional learning
Component 3: Working with parents and carers
Component 4: Helping students with mental health difficulties.

Steps in applying for recognition 

  1. Complete the Recognition Form

  2. Include a school leadership statement about the impact and the future plans of KidsMatter.

  3. Ensure the application is approved by your school’s Principal.

  4. Submit the completed form to your  state/territory KidsMatter team or via the appropriate regional email: ACTNSWNTQLDSATASVICWA

Approval of recognition

We will notify your school when the Application for Recognition is approved. If we require additional information, we will ask you to revise your application.
